Beady Eye To Perform On X Factor

Liam Gallagher has claimed that his band Beady Eye will perform on the upcoming series of the X Factor.

Despite branding the reality TV series as ‘annoying’, speaking to the Daily Mirror the Beady Eye front man said the band will be performing one of their new tracks off the album BE.

Liam Gallagher said: “We’re doing X Factor, I think it’s to be on one of the live shows. I don’t care man, we’re rock and roll stars and you can’t argue that’s a huge audience. You have to take that opportunity.”

The former Oasis front man also voiced his opinion on X Factor stars, One Direction.

Gallagher said: “I mean, they’re not rock stars are they? Harry’s alright though. I met him at the Olympics and I just said to him, ‘Keep on keeping on’.

“He knows what’s happening, but he’s nothing like me. I’m a proper rock and roll star.”

The announcement comes just a few weeks after Liam Gallagher claimed that he would would consider retiring from the music industry if the new Beady Eye album fails.

Last month his brother, Noel Gallagher revealed he had turned down the chance to sit on the X Factor judging panel as he “didn’t want to be on TV every Saturday night.”

Beady Eye‘s new album will be released on June 10.
