Celebrating The 80’s With The 80’s Rewind Festival

Here at music.co.uk, we’re not ashamed to admit we’re big fans of 80’s music, and although an 80’s revival is nothing new, we think this year will be the biggest, and best celebration of the genre, thanks in part to the ’80’s Rewind Festival’. Although there have been many 80’s arena tours over the years, this is perhaps the first outdoor festival of it’s kind to dedicate itself entirely to 80’s music.

Festival organisers hope 20,000 festival goers will descend on the venue near Henley on Thames, and they have some treats in store for everyone of you that does buy tickets. First, and most important is the music, and if claims are to be believed, this will be the biggest line-up  of 80’s stars since Live Aid. The impressive list of performers includes Billy Ocean, Go West, T’Pau, Heaven 17, Howard Jones, and ABC, among many others.

With a stunning riverside location, the festival has a somewhat glamourous side too, with Cocktail and Theme Bars, awarding winning restaurant Bodeans, and riverside moorings for boats on offer throughout the festival. There is even a so-called ‘glamping’  option for campers too, with ready erected tents, tipi villages, and yes plenty of showers and toilets too. The festival is aimed at families and party animals alike, with funfairs, fireworks, a comedy tent also on-site to entertain during the event.

80’s Rewind runs from August 21-23rd, and tickets are on sale now. For full line-up and ticketing details visit www.rewindfestival.com, but click away from us just yet! As suggested in the title of this piece, we @ music.co.uk are celebrating the 80’s and the 80’s Rewind Festival, and have lots to come between now and festival time.

To whet your appetite we have an interview with festival organiser David Heartfield, and we’ll be catching up with some of the stars of the show too.  So Keep your eyes on music.co.uk and we’ll have some treats online for you very soon.
