Essex Is Counting Down To The SX Festival

The sun is shining (finally), and although it may seem a little early, Essex is already counting down to the start of its festival season! 21 days and counting until the SX Festival, and what an event it’s shaping up to be.

Music.co.uk is quite excited to bring you news of this event, and it won’t be too hard to figure out why, when you consider the two day event features around 80 bands, and 90 DJ’s! Among the five (yes five!) dedicated music stages, there will be a main arena, playing out a vast variety of indie and rock music, the Woho World Music Stage, a Dub Arena, The DNA Records Stage, Acoustic Stage, and Dance Music Stage. Many of the acts performing are new, unsigned, or local talent, so will be familiar to Essex residents, or worth checking out if you’re visiting from outside the county. To give a few a name check, music.co.uk favourites Seven Summers will be appearing on the Main Stage on May 15th, alongside Ease Springs, Jacksons Warehouse, Dave Finnegans Commitments, Rapid Fire Radio, The Beatroots, and The Jons. Taking over the Main Stage on the 16th May, will be Mantango, Dee Hunter, Missing Andy, British Intelligence, Vacant Touch, and The New Giants.

Over the weekend, the Woho Stage also boasts an eclectic mix of bands and singers, which includes Pretty Die Young, Dirty Magic, Blackwater Phoenix, The Vanity Clause, The Ramjets, Between The Screams, The Slums, and Near Death Experiement. Of course, being a festival, the fun doesn’t just start and end with the music, impressive though the vast line-up is!
This family friendly festival also hosts a children’s field full of arts, crafts, workshops, performances from local youth groups, circus skills, play areas, and bouncy castles (with any luck the big kids among you can have a go too!). There’ll also be plenty of food, drink, pampering, a craft market, and many more attractions to keep you amused throughout the festival.

Tickets are on-sale now, but must be brought in advance, so why not visit www.sxfestival.co.uk and see what the festival is all about, and maybe buy your tickets too?!

SX Festival, 15/16th May 2010, Tabors Farm, Rochford. There are day and weekend tickets available, and to make travelling easier, bus services from Basildon, and Rochford Train Stations. All you really need now is the weather?!
