Lady Gaga Releases New Single ‘Applause’

Lady Gaga has released ‘Applause’, the first single off her upcoming ‘Artpop’ third album.

The release of the single comes after alleged hacking and leaks of Applause. The single was played on radio stations for the first time yesterday.

Lady Gaga took to Twitter to announce the release of the new single, and explained over a number of tweets the reason why the release of the single had been brought forward.

Calling it a ‘Pop Emergency’ the release of the single led to music site Last.fm to crash due to the demand from fans.

The single has so far received mixed reviews from critics, with comments ranging from the highly complimentary to the slightly negative.

The highly anticipated album Artpop is due for release on November 11.
